Military Facts and Legends: Legion of the United States

220px-American_Legion_1794When the 13 American Colonies initially began resisting Britain, they had no organized military. Individual states fielded militias and troops, but a unified military was lacking. In part, this was a result of wary attitudes among many members of the public who did not support the idea of an organized military force acting on behalf of all of the colonies. The Continental Congress also shared this view.

After a few defeats, however, the Continental Congress reluctantly established the Continental Army as a unified means for the colonies to fight Great Britain. Officially established on June 14, 1775, George Washington was named its commander in chief. But unconditional support was missing.  The Continental Congress came up with an inadequate and, in retrospect, foolish requirement where each of the then-colonies were to send men and to supply and pay those men. Since few colonies were able to meet these requirements, the Continental Army was often inadequately supplied with food, clothing, and other materials.

What was not lacking, however, was the spirit to succeed along with an interesting blend of traditional and well-established military tactics and innovations shown by members of the Continental Army. While it often struggled against the more highly trained and organized British troops in open battle, Continental forces were not above using guerrilla tactics to harry the British. It subverted traditional ideas about how wars should be fought, relying on knowledge of the terrain and creativity to fight the British, rather than attempting to overpower British forces by conventional means. Inconsistent organization within the British military forces was exploited by Continental troops.

Thought there were many defeats, there were also enough successes for the United States to win its bid for independence. After the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783 to end the Revolutionary War, the Founding Fathers, still suspicious of standing armies and believing that the militia would be suited to all the nation’s defensive needs, they disbanded the Continental Army. State militias became the new nation’s sole ground army, with the exception of a regiment to guard the Western Frontier and one battery of artillery guarding West Point’s arsenal.

However, because of continuing conflict with Native Americans, it was soon realized that it was necessary to field a trained standing army. The Regular Army was at first very small, and after General St. Clair’s defeat at the Battle of the Wabash, the Regular Army was reorganized in 1791 as the Legion of the United States.

St. Clair’s Defeat also known as the Battle of the Wabash, the Battle of Wabash River or the Battle of a Thousand Slain, was fought on November 4, 1791 in the Northwest Territory between the United States and the Western Confederacy of American Indians, as part of the Northwest Indian War. It was a major American Indian victory and remains the greatest defeat of the United States Army by American Indians; of the 1,000 officers and men that St. Clair led into battle, only 24 escaped unharmed.

The defeat of St. Clair, whose forces were drawn principally from state militias, caused a shift in thinking. President Washington picked his old lieutenant, General “Mad Anthony” Wayne, to lead a new professional army. At the recommendation of Secretary of War Henry Knox, it was decided to recruit and train a “Legion of the United States” that would combine all land combat arms of the day (cavalry, heavy and light infantry, artillery) into one efficient brigade-sized force divisible into stand-alone combined arms teams. Congress agreed with this proposal and agreed to augment the small standing army until “the United States shall be at peace with the Indian tribes.”

Eventually the need for a standing Army was realized by the congress and in 1789, the United States Army was established.

NAVY PRIDE RUNS DEEPOct. 13 marks the U.S. Navy’s 239th birthday. For many Sailors & Veterans the Navy’s birthday is a time to remember tradition and legacy. The U.S. Navy traces its origins to the Continental Navy, established by the Continental Congress, Oct. 13, 1775, by authorizing the procurement, fitting out, manning and dispatch of two armed vessels to cruise in search of munitions ships supplying the British Army in America.

In 1972, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Elmo R. Zumwalt authorized recognition of Oct. 13 as the Navy Birthday, encouraging a Navy-wide celebration of this occasion, “to enhance a greater appreciation of our Navy heritage, and to provide a positive influence toward pride and professionalism in the naval service.”

The Birth of the Navy of the United States

On Friday, October 13, 1775, meeting in Philadelphia, the Continental Congress voted to fit out two sailing vessels, armed with ten carriage guns, as well as swivel guns, and manned by crews of eighty, and to send them out on a cruise of three months to intercept transports carrying munitions and stores to the British army in America. This was the original legislation out of which the Continental Navy grew and as such constitutes the birth certificate of the navy.

To understand the momentous significance of the decision to send two armed vessels to sea under the authority of the Continental Congress, we need to review the strategic situation in which it was made and to consider the political struggle that lay behind it.

Americans first took up arms in the spring of 1775, not to sever their relationship with the king, but to defend their rights within the British Empire. By the autumn of 1775, the British North American colonies from Maine to Georgia were in open rebellion. Royal governments had been thrust out of many colonial capitals and revolutionary governments put in their places. The Continental Congress had assumed some of the responsibilities of a central government for the colonies, created a Continental Army, issued paper money for the support of the troops, and formed a committee to negotiate with foreign countries. Continental forces captured Fort Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain and launched an invasion of Canada.

In October 1775 the British held superiority at sea, from which they threatened to stop up the colonies’ trade and to wreak destruction on seaside settlements. In response, a few of the states had commissioned small fleets of their own for defense of local waters. Congress had not yet authorized privateering. Some in Congress worried about pushing the armed struggle too far, hoping that reconciliation with the mother country was still possible.

Yet, a small coterie of men in Congress had been advocating a Continental Navy from the outset of armed hostilities. Foremost among these men was John Adams, of Massachusetts. For months, he and a few others had been agitating in Congress for the establishment of an American fleet. They argued that a fleet would defend the seacoast towns, protect vital trade, retaliate against British raiders, and make it possible to seek out among neutral nations of the world the arms and stores that would make resistance possible.

Still, the establishment of a navy seemed too bold a move for some of the timid men in Congress. Some southerners agreed that a fleet would protect and secure the trade of New England but denied that it would that of the southern colonies. Most of the delegates did not consider the break with England as final and feared that a navy implied sovereignty and independence. Others thought a navy a hasty and foolish challenge to the mightiest fleet the world had seen. The most the pro-navy men could do was to get Congress to urge each colony to fit out armed vessels for the protection of their coasts and harbors.

Then, on 3 October, Rhode Island’s delegates laid before Congress a bold resolution for the building and equipping of an American fleet, as soon as possible. When the motion came to the floor for debate, Samuel Chase, of Maryland, attacked it, saying it was “the maddest Idea in the World to think of building an American Fleet.” Even pro-navy members found the proposal too vague. It lacked specifics and no one could tell how much it would cost.

If Congress was yet unwilling to embrace the idea of establishing a navy as a permanent measure, it could be tempted by short-term opportunities. Fortuitously, on 5 October, Congress received intelligence of two English brigs, unarmed and without convoy, laden with munitions, leaving England bound for Quebec. Congress immediately appointed a committee to consider how to take advantage of this opportunity. Its members were all New Englanders and all ardent supporters of a navy. They recommended first that the governments of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut be asked to dispatch armed vessels to lay in wait to intercept the munitions ships; next they outlined a plan for the equipping by Congress of two armed vessels to cruise to the eastward to intercept any ships bearing supplies to the British army. Congress let this plan lie on the table until 13 October, when another fortuitous event occurred in favor of the naval movement. A letter from General Washington was read in Congress in which he reported that he had taken under his command, at Continental expense, three schooners to cruise off Massachusetts to intercept enemy supply ships. The commander in chief had preempted members of Congress reluctant to take the first step of fitting out warships under Continental authority. Since they already had armed vessels cruising in their name, it was not such a big step to approve two more. The committee’s proposal, now appearing eminently reasonable to the reluctant members, was adopted.

The Continental Navy grew into an important force. Within a few days, Congress established a Naval Committee charged with equipping a fleet. This committee directed the purchasing, outfitting, manning, and operations of the first ships of the new navy, drafted subsequent naval legislation, and prepared rules and regulations to govern the Continental Navy’s conduct and internal administration.

Over the course of the War of Independence, the Continental Navy sent to sea more than fifty armed vessels of various types. The navy’s squadrons and cruisers seized enemy supplies and carried correspondence and diplomats to Europe, returning with needed munitions. They took nearly 200 British vessels as prizes, some off the British Isles themselves, contributing to the demoralization of the enemy and forcing the British to divert warships to protect convoys and trade routes. In addition, the navy provoked diplomatic crises that helped bring France into the war against Great Britain. The Continental Navy began the proud tradition carried on today by our United States Navy, and whose birthday we celebrate each year in October.

This resolution of the Continental Congress marked the establishment of what is now the United States Navy.

“Resolved, That a swift sailing vessel, to carry ten carriage guns, and a proportionable number of swivels, with eighty men, be fitted, with all possible despatch, for a cruise of three months, and that the commander be instructed to cruise eastward, for intercepting such transports as may be laden with warlike stores and other supplies for our enemies, and for such other purposes as the Congress shall direct.

That a Committee of three be appointed to prepare an estimate of the expence, and lay the same before the Congress, and to contract with proper persons to fit out the vessel.

Resolved, that another vessel be fitted out for the same purposes, and that the said committee report their opinion of a proper vessel, and also an estimate of the expence.”

NAME CHANGE (But, hey~ it’s all in the name of Political Correctness; right?)

What’s all the hub-bub about the NFL trying to force a name change on the owners of the Washington Redskins? Who exactly is running this Bull Shit attempt at “Political Correctness”; all in the name of racism? The last time I checked in on America~ we are still a free country, with a Constitutional right of Free Speech under the First Amendment! Okay, so let’s forget all that for a minute and instead think about who exactly is trying to “wag the dog” here as well as their reasons for it because we really all know that it is the radical left  wing of our Federal Government!  Come to think of it, never mind; my original question for now & instead let’s just try these scenarios on for size. ~ JGT

Many, not the majority, but many~ Native Americans don’t like the name, “Redskins”. Many would say that the meaning; of the word ‘redskins’ is equivalent to the word, “Warriors” which in American Indian culture is considered a great honor, but dammit~ we Politically Correct (PC)  people don’t want to offend them, so in the spirit of PC, let’s just deprive the NFL redskins-cartoon-mckee-495x324owners (Americans) of their First Amendment rights instead. But, hey~ it’s all in the name of Political Correctness; right?

So what’s next? Oh, I know~ how about the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Blackhawks & the Cleveland Browns? Why not? It’s all about Indians and skin-color; right? Indeed, while we’re at it, let’s get rid of the Carolina Panthers too because, after all~ doesn’t that team name keep alive the memory of the militant blacks that formed the Black Panthers in the 1960’s? White people would definitely be offended by that name; wouldn’t they? But, hey~ it’s all in the name of Political Correctness; right?

Now, although I’m a Jersey Girl~ I have to wonder about a team named the New York Yankees? Doesn’t the name offend those people that live in the south? I don’t know of any team named for the confederacy. Do you? I don’t see the southern states uprising over a team that could have been named something like the “Atlanta Rebels” or the “Carolina Confederates”; do you?  But, hey~ it’s all in the name of Political Correctness; right?

What about all the teams named after religious organizations? Christian & Judea references here must be totally obliterated in the name of political correctness according to the PC Police. They will have a field day there! The New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Angels, San Diego Padres & St. Louis Cardinals will be forced to change their team names because (3) three atheists out of  318 million people in the U.S. don’t like it.  But, hey~ it’s all in the name of Political Correctness; right?

While we are at it, let’s get rid of all the team names that glorify historical criminals, those that raped & pillaged their way through life. Let’s start with the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders; Tampa Bay Buccaneers & those horrible Pittsburgh Pirates!  They are evil names referring to criminal men in our history so let’s get rid of them too because it sends a bad message. But, hey~ it’s all in the name of Political Correctness; right?

Now that all that PC stuff is out of our way, let’s see what teams are sending a horrible message to our children. The San Diego Chargers are promoting irresponsible spending habits! So, they have to go!  The New York Giants & San Francisco Giants promote childhood obesity~ a real epidemic for the young!  The Cincinnati Reds promote drugs (downers & barbiturates).  And let’s not forget the Milwaukee Brewers~ doesn’t that go without saying? It’s a message to our kids to drink beer which = alcohol. After all!~ we can not tolerate anything that promotes drinking to our young; can we? But, hey~ it’s all in the name of Political Correctness; right?

But wait a minute~ don’t you think that the state of Oregon should change their Women’s Athletic Team name to something other than “Beavers”! Isn’t that offensive to women? But, hey~ it’s all in the name of Political Correctness; right?

In Obama’s United States of America, the needs of the many do NOT outweigh the needs of the few ~ or the one. Twisted principles from the socialist mindset of a twisted man! (Thanks, Mr. Spock!) ~ dfh

 

HOW IS OBAMA IS LIKE HITLER?

255156774_obama_the_dictator_1_12_2013_xlargeLast March (2014) I published an article here entitled, “Why is Barack Obama Like King George III of England“?  The comparison of the two was so interesting to me that I began making comparisons between Barrack Hussein Obama & Adolf Hitler.  Hitler’s “T-4 Program” is another comparison that I attribute to OBAMACARE and I published that opinion because I believe the Obama Administration and NOW the Veteran’s Administration are now finally in sync to murder any Americans whom the Federal Government believes are too old,  too conservative, too patriotic, too pro-American ~ thus too inconvenient to the radical, socialist agenda of liberal people who have either been indoctrinated into socialistic policies that reward the politicians in power & do NOTHING for the working class in general OR are hell-bent on destroying the very foundation and principles of the American Constitution, including but not limited to;  our Freedoms under the Bill of Rights. Free Speech, Religion & our Right to Bare Arms have all come under attack by the Socialist Liberals & Secularists currently running OUR government! ~ JGT

The similarities are terrifying, the conclusion inevitable. On March 23, 1933, the German Parliament met to consider passing a bill that Adolf Hitler had created called the Enabling Act. It was officially called the ‘Law for Removing the Distress of the People and the Reich.’ Why were the German people in such distress? Because their government was in utter chaos, and the German leaders wanted to reassure the people that everything would be okay. The only fly in the ointment was that the Nazis had, behind the scenes, caused the distress themselves by creating the crisis, so that they could step in and solve it.  Sound familiar? ~JGT

Hitler promised the German people that the government would “make use of these powers only insofar as they are essential for carrying out vitally necessary measures. The number of cases in which an internal necessity exists for having recourse to such a law is in itself a limited one.” So the German congress voted on the bill, with the end result being the legal destruction of the German Democratic Republic. The bill gave Hitler enormous, unprecedented powers to do as he saw fit for the government of the German people. It was the act that officially created a legal dictator who was answerable to no one. The people cheered, and National Socialism became the law of the land from that day forward. Today, Barack Obama is changing times and laws in America, giving himself unprecedented power never before seen. His Obama Care bill, now the law of the land; empowers him to create his own private army, forces citizens to abide by unconstitutional laws, and will use the IRS in much the same way that Hitler used his brown shirts * eventually the SS to make people get in line behind his policies. Many Americans will awaken from their “Obama Dreamy-Eyed Coma” too late to the fact that Obama has subverted the United States Constitution, and stolen our precious liberties and freedoms. That’s why Obama’s followers are encouraged and taught to follow and have faith in Obama the man, and not in our God or in our country. This is exactly the ploy that Hitler used to great and terrible effect in Nazi Germany.

Some people would balk at the comparison between Hitler and Obama, saying it was unfair. After all, Hitler started WWII and killed 11,000,000 Jews and Gentiles in death camps, and Obama has done nothing like that. Well, it’s only unfair if you compare Hitler at the end of his rule to the beginning of Obama’s. But if you compare Hitler and Obama at the beginning of their rise to power, it’s extremely fair. Both Hitler & Obama held rallies in outdoor stadiums to excite and inflame people’s passions. Frequently, women would faint or break into tears. If that’s not enough, check out the following:

  Both Hitler and Obama wrote ghost-written autobiographies prior to the start of their run for political office. Hitler wrote ‘Mein Kampf’ (My Struggle), and Obama wrote ‘Dreams Of My Father’. Some doubt exists that Obama actually wrote his so-called autobiography believing instead that it may have been ghost-written by William (Bill) Charles Ayers, a former leader of the terrorist Weather Underground. A friend of Obama’s before he ran for POTUS. ~ Both Obama & Hitler then wrote a second book talking about their goals for German and America. Hitler wrote “A New World Order”, Obama wrote “The Audacity of Hope”. Yeah, pretty audacious! ~JGT
  Both Hitler and Obama originally had last names that were changed later in life. Hitler used to be Schickelbruber, and Obama’s last name was Soetoro. In other words, each used & uses an alias! ~JGT
  Both Hitler and Obama hid their real identities. Hitler had a Jewish ancestry, and Obama a Muslim one. But unlike Hitler, Obama flaunted his Muslim roots in his start as a politician in order to defuse the inevitable firestorm. His ploy of “hiding in plain sight” worked very well. ~JGT
  Both Hitler and Obama’s supporters followed them blindly, and without question. They’re what’s known as Obama Zombies! ~ JGT
  Both Hitler and Obama used political power and coercion to conceal and hide their birth certificates from coming to public view. Hitler made his disappear, and Obama is unwilling and unable to produce his REAL long-form birth certificate. Call it whatever you want. There are too many discrepancies with Obama’s so-called Hawaiian birth registration to prove it’s authentic! ` JGT
  Both Hitler and Obama advocate using young people as a driving force to create an “army” of youth dedicated to their Ideals. Hitler had his Hitler Youth, and Obama his Obama Youth Brigade.The federal government calls them FEMA Corps. But they conjure up memories of the Hitler Youth of 1930’s Germany. Regardless of their name, the Dept. of Homeland Security graduated its first class of 231 Homeland Youth in Oct. 2012. Kids, aged 18-24 and recruited from the President’s AmeriCorp volunteers, they represent the first wave of DHS’s youth corps, designed specifically to create a full time, paid, standing army of FEMA Youth across the country. Scary~ huh? ~JGT
  Both Hitler and Obama were known for their tremendous oratorical skills. Albeit~ Obama uses a teleprompter. God forbid it fails to work! ~JGT
  Both Hitler and Obama received Messianic comparisons, and both men had songs of adoration written about them and for them. Do you remember the song~ “Barrack Hussein Obama ~ mmm, mmm, mmm”? ~JGT
  Like Hitler, Obama rules in direct disregard to the will and wishes of the people. The American People mean nothing to Obama! `~JGT
  Like Hitler, Obama has an obvious distaste for the Jews, and sides with the Muslims every chance he gets. Thus~ he ignores crimes against Christians & Jews all over the world! Typical of Islamic Radicals! ~JGT
  Both Hitler and Obama were able to mesmerize the people even when it was obvious that what they were saying was not true. Again~Obama Zombies! ~ JGT
  Both Hitler and Obama used domestic terrorists to launch their careers. Hitler had his Brown Shirts from his beer hall days, and Obama had people like Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and many other radical leftists including Rashid Khalidi & Reverend Jerimiah Wright. All long-time friends of the Obamas. Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn were former leaders of the 1960s’ Weather Underground, America’s first terrorist cult.  One of their bombing targets, as it happened, was the Pentagon. ~JGT
  Like Hitler, Obama advocates using murder as a means of population control. From taxpayer funding of abortions in America and around the world, to the funding of the creating and destruction of human life in embryonic stem cell research with your tax money; from the absolute refusal to cut off public funding to Planned Parenthood to the stacking of the Supreme Court and federal courts with hardcore abortion advocates, pro-life groups say Obama has left every unborn child behind. Last year Planned Parenthood announced that Obama is the most pro-abortion president in history! ~ JGT

Earlier today, the entire nation heard the news that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl (held by the Taliban for 5 years in Afghanistan) had been released because of a “back-room” deal made by POTUS Obama in exchange for 5 of the most deadly (battle-field )captured Terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility. If Obama had not already sealed his fateful legacy as being the biggest Spender POTUS & biggest Cover-up POTUS & Laziest POTUS & most Scandal-Ridden POTUS & worst Foreign Policy POTUS & biggest Liar POTUS in the History of the United States~ then today he added Naivety, Cowardice, Stupidity,  Constitutional Law-Breaker & Traitorous Acts by Negotiating with Terrorists to his resume’ as in my opinion the “WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

NEW JERSEY SET TO BAN COMMON HUNTING RIFLES

2nd-amendmentA bill has been sent to Governor Chris Christie’s desk in New Jersey that would have the effect of prohibiting many fixed-magazine weapons commonly used in hunting, and almost never in murders. The Truth About Guns has the scoop.

The gun ban that has gone to New Jersey Governor Christie for signature has been described as a “gun magazine restriction“, but it bans numerous common sport and hunting rifles. The ban has no exemption for rifles with fixed magazines, including most common .22 rimfire rifles that are used for sport and small game hunting…and almost never used in crimes. Assembly Bill 2006 bans rifles that meet this definition: (4) A semi-automatic rifle with a fixed magazine capacity exceeding [15] 10 rounds . . .

As Dean Weingarten notes, some common rifles have been modified from an original 17 shot clip capacity down to 15. The new New Jersey legislation would outlaw the modified ones as well.

John Hinderaker at Powerline Blog adds, “This ban on America’s most common and most inoffensive long gun has gone to Governor Chris Christie for signature. It seems almost inconceivable that any state could ban the .22 rifle in most of its iterations, but that is the age we live in. So this is an easy test for Christie: he should veto the .22 rifle ban. If he does so, it won’t tell us much except that he isn’t a complete fool. If he fails to veto the .22 ban, he will be exposed as a phony conservative who can’t be trusted with even the easiest of decisions.”  Governor Chris Christie has been inconsistent at best on 2nd Amendment issues, but last year he vetoed three gun control measures. So there may be hope yet in the Garden State.

Last year, Governor Christie refused to sign three closely watched gun control bills, including a ban on .50 caliber sniper rifles.  Christie fully rejected the ban on .50 caliber rifles, five-foot-long snipers that can be loaded with palm-length cartridges designed to penetrate heavy armor a mile away; and that are, according to Christie, necessary for “recreational pastimes.” Christie carved up the two other bills and sent them back to the legislature with conditional vetoes. From a bill that supporters called a “national model” for overhauling how states conduct background checks and issue firearm permits, Christie cut provisions to digitally embed firearm permits in a gun owner’s driver’s license, to include private sales in the instant background check system and to require prospective gun owners to take a short safety course. “None of the technology necessary for this system exists,” Christie said that would link firearm permits with state ID. Christie also gutted a law requiring state officials to report data about lost and stolen firearms, along with those seized in association with a crime, to federal databases. ~ JGT

OBAMA AUTHORIZED PEACETIME MARTIAL LAW, MILITARY DRAFT & PROCUREMENT OF PRIVATE PROPERTY

Did you know that President Obama signed anunprecedented Executive Order (EO) in March 2012 authorizing a Military Draft? It exceeds the recent admission from Defense Secretary Leon Panetta dismissing the role of Congress in military actions. It exceeds the revelation in the National Defense Authorization Act which declares the U.S. homeland as part of the battlefield allowing American citizens to be indefinitely detained absent any charges being filed.  Why is this EO so heinous? It doesn’t even require the declaration of an emergency. It’s based upon national defense readiness, both in peacetime and during an emergency. It extends the powers of martial law at anytime the President sees fit. Martial law normally requires a breakdown of law and order. This President has determined he has the authority right now, today, to implement any measures he deems necessary to prepare the troops.

Sec. 102.  Policy.  The United States must have an industrial and technological base capable of meeting national defense requirements and capable of contributing to the technological superiority of its national defense equipment in peacetime and in times of national emergency.  The domestic industrial and technological base is the foundation for national defense preparedness.  The authorities provided in the Act shall be used to strengthen this base and to ensure it is capable of responding to the national defense needs of the United States.

He goes on further to declare that his Agency Heads have the authority to guarantee loans by private institutions (Sec. 301), and even to make the terms of the contracts (Sec. 301(b)). If that’s not enough, he has given the Agency Heads the authority to issue loans (Sec. 302). They are also authorized to stockpile materials in excess of requirements (Sec. 303(b)) and to issue subsidy payments for high cost items (Sec. 304). Section 308 is outrageous.

Sec. 308.  Government-Owned Equipment.  The head of each agency engaged in procurement for the national defense is delegated the authority of the President under section 303(e) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2093(e), to: (a)  procure and install additional equipment, facilities, processes, or improvements to plants, factories, and other industrial facilities owned by the Federal Government and to procure and install Government owned equipment in plants, factories, or other industrial facilities owned by private persons; (b)  provide for the modification or expansion of privately owned facilities, including the modification or improvement of production processes, when taking actions under sections 301, 302, or 303 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2091, 2092, 2093; and (c)  sell or otherwise transfer equipment owned by the Federal Government and installed under section 303(e) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2093(e), to the owners of such plants, factories, or other industrial facilities.

The Federal Government has the authority to procure, install or modify private property. In peacetime. Who needs Martial Law? Obama is also creating advisory boards such as the Defense Production Act Committee (DPAC) and the National Defense Executive Reserve (NDER). Not exciting enough for you yet? How about Section 601.

Sec. 601.  Secretary of Labor.  (a)  The Secretary of Labor, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of other agencies, as deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, shall: (1)  collect and maintain data necessary to make a continuing appraisal of the Nation’s workforce needs for purposes of national defense; (2)  upon request by the Director of Selective Service, and in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, assist the Director of Selective Service in development of policies regulating the induction and deferment of persons for duty in the armed services; (3)  upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this order, consult with that agency with respect to:  (i) the effect of contemplated actions on labor demand and utilization; (ii) the relation of labor demand to materials and facilities requirements; and (iii) such other matters as will assist in making the exercise of priority and allocations functions consistent with effective utilization and distribution of labor; (4)  upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this order:  (i) formulate plans, programs, and policies for meeting the labor requirements of actions to be taken for national defense purposes; and (ii) estimate training needs to help address national defense requirements and promote necessary and appropriate training programs; and (5)  develop and implement an effective labor management relations policy to support the activities and programs under this order, with the cooperation of other agencies as deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, including the National Labor Relations Board, the Federal Labor Relations Authority, the National Mediation Board, and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service shouldn’t be concerned it even exists.

The 9 Biggest Lies Obama Told During The SOTU Address

1. Obama claims that “corporate profits and stock prices have rarely been higher, and those at the top have never done better. But… upward mobility has stalled.” This has been refuted most recently by Harvard Economics Professor Raj Chetty who recently released a paper showing that upward mobility in America hasn’t changed since the 1970’s.  This means that in the past 40+ years the chances of moving out of poverty in America have remained unchanged.

2. The President continued beating his ‘war on women’ drum last night, using his often cited statistic about women making only $.77 for every dollar a man makes in America.  The problem is this statistic is completely bogus.  It isn’t just conservatives who are saying this, even the staunch liberals at Slate say the President’s figures simply don’t add up.  After all, it’s just arithmetic.

3. While the President made a big show out of the minimum wage he failed to tell the American people, that the minimum wage actually only affects less than 1% of the work force.  That’s right, less than 1% of the American workforce earns the federal minimum wage, the rest work at a level above the minimum.  While Obama might want to force this issue for political gain, he is lying when he says that this is a huge problem for the American public.

4. Obama claimed “more than 9 million Americans have signed up” for coverage under ObamaCare during his speech last night, a number that has been widely challenged in the aftermath of the speech. Observers have pointed out that almost 5 million Americans have lost coverage because of the mandates in ObamaCare. Others have questioned the number of Medicaid beneficiaries who are newly eligible due to the program’s expansion under the law. Obama’s 9 million figure includes a claim that 3.9 million learned they are eligible for Medicaid, but he admits some of those counted are actually renewals.

5. President Obama claimed to have added 8 million jobs to the U.S. economy last night to loud applause.  The problem is, that claim only rings true if you ignore all of the jobs the economy has lost under Obama’s watch.  The true number is well less than half of his claim.  The President will continue to ignore this truth, however, because it goes to show that the economic recovery under his tenure has been the slowest since World War II.

6. While Obama took credit for the rising domestic energy production he is lying by omission when he fails to tell the American people this energy boom has occurred in spite of his policies, not because of them.  Much of the increase in domestic energy production has happened on private land, and despite the growing number of regulations that the Obama administration has heaped on the industry.

7.  The Affordable Care Act, ObamaCare to most, is on its face a lie.  While the President painted a rosy picture of his namesake last night, he glossed over the fact that it is not affordable after all.  While monthly bills for health insurance have gone down for some (and risen for others), that is only one side of the equation.  What Obama isn’t telling the public is that deductibles are going up under ObamaCare, sometimes doubling or even tripling.

8. While carbon emissions are not at the top of For America’s policy priorities, holding President Obama accountable for his claims is what we are all about. Last night, the President claimed the U.S. “reduced our total carbon pollution more than any other nation on Earth.” The facts show many nations reduced their emissions by a greater percentage than the U.S. has in recent years.

 9. On Iran, President Obama told the American people a flat-out lie last night.  The President said that Iran is now eliminating its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.  While evidence exists that the Iranians, under the recent international agreement, have begun oxidizing their highly enriched uranium, a process that makes the uranium unusable. Obama failed to say this process is completely reversible, and thus, Iran has not eliminated their stockpiles at all.

The Fleecing of American Servicemembers and Veterans | Veterans Today

THE FLEECING OF AMERICAN SERVICE MEMBERS & VETERANS by Roland Wilson

flagOver the past several decades, American Servicemembers, and especially Veterans have seen a growing trend in our government. That is, the government sends our men and women off to war, gives temporary enticing incentives and makes other empty promises to attract and keep them in the military; and then once they retire or discharge, these veterans are disposed of like useless pieces of antiquated military gear.

It wasn’t too long ago, that our government understood and truly tried to take care of our Servicemembers and Veterans.  This makes perfect sense since up until the 1970-80’s, approximately 75% of the members of congress had served in the military, compared to around 20% today.  Thus, they fully understood what military service, sacrifice, honor, commitment and integrity meant.   Because of this, both Servicemembers and Veterans enjoyed many hard-earned and desperately needed benefits.

For example, they used to be able to buy fuel at base gas stations around the country for less than the cost outside of base. The government did not add taxes to the sale of fuel, which helped offset the cost of living for our Servicemembers and Veterans.  Than one day, our government decided to pass the little known Hayden-Cartwright Act (4 USC, Section 104) to get rid of this benefit.  This obscure federal law, which passed more than 60 years ago, requires on-base military gas stations to collect taxes on the gasoline they sell. Why? Was it due to pressure from lobbyist of gas station owners and petroleum companies around the country that wanted their share of the military and veterans market?

In the past, every man and women who was recruited into the military was promised free health and dental care for life, if they served and retired from military service.  Than this promise was broken by stating, it was never really a promise.  Soon after, retirees were kicked out of base dental and health clinics around the world as these same clinics and hospitals claimed due to closing bases, and government downsizing and cutbacks on medical and dental facilities including doctors, they did not have the money or personnel to care for veterans.

In response Congress, in their infinite wisdom and continued policy of give and take (more take than give), started the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the United States (CHAMPUS), which was a health care program for military retirees and their dependents, similar to MEDICARE.  Then, due to costs, this was again changed to the Tricare Program, which is a three tier medical insurance program that, depending on the tier, requires increasing copayments and deductibles by its members.

Now, many in congress and unfortunately, even some military leaders are beginning to state that there are too many using this Tricare program and that the government can’t afford it, so we must adjust these benefits, raise premiums, and “cure the health care problem.”  This is ironic since it was our government who recruited, promised and then sent these men and women off to war, while spending billions of dollars on these same wars and supporting foreign militaries and governments.  Therefore, due to congress’s misappropriation of funds and poor leadership choices, these government officials are progressively abandoning our Servicemembers and Veterans, not all at once, just at a slow, steady and quiet pace.

Meanwhile these same government officials that are pushing “fiscal austerity” for some, enjoy very generous private health insurance and retirement programs and can go to military medical facilities for treatment.  They can also retire with only five years of government service, and even become eligible for a retirement annuity at a younger age and with fewer years of service than even other federal government workers.  These same members of congress also continue with their own pork barrel spending and other projects while having extremely generous office budgets ranging from $1.27 million to $1.546 million for house members, to $2.96 million to $4.65 million for senate members.

There is a recent call to close domestic base commissaries.   Even though these commissaries not only provide needed food and other shopping benefits and support while making a profit, but also donate about 70% of the funds used for base moral, welfare and recreational programs (MWR).  In addition, these same commissaries provide the vast majority of jobs to military dependents while their profits are used to build new stores or renovate existing facilities without expense to the federal government.  Yet, some want to close these commissaries.  Why? Is there possibly a correlation between government officials and outside big supermarkets and retail stores?  Now, lawmakers are looking at potential savings through adjustments in the military pension system as a way to avoid deeper spending cuts.

It is recognized though that there have been some congressional supporters of our nation’s military Servicemembers and Veterans as was evident by the passing of the new GI Bill.  However, like the original GI Bill of the past known as the Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944, and the Vietnam Era GI Bill known as Chapter 34, no one knows when these new education benefits will start to be slowly taken away and then rescinded.  What will happen next?  Will there be additional cuts in pay, retirement and other benefits forcing Veterans to one day finally march on D.C. to demand what was promised them, similar to the Bonus Expeditionary Force in July 9132, only to be met with violent force, injury and eviction?  Or will congress simply start to draft “some” into military service in order to save money and do as thy please without worrying about the consequences?

Our Servicemembers and Veterans certainly know what sacrifice hardship are, and continue to endure these things long after they serve.  Servicemembers and Veterans also know that although they protect freedom and democracy, they can seldom take part in it.  However, isn’t it time for congress to stop fleecing and abandoning the protectors of our nation, especially those that have already given so much?  What happened to honor, trust and integrity in our government?  One thing is obvious; Servicemembers and Veterans need to become an active and unified voting block.

SEND THEM ALL TO DETROIT!

I’m not talking about family, friends or your pets; I’m talking about things like the bills, mortgage payments, economic worries, political-correctness, lying politicians and all the insane Islamic, Muslim terrorists! I am so tired of all the elitists and progressives that are ruining our country! There are times that I’d just like to dig a big hole and bury them all in it! For the record, I would never actually do anything so dastardly to these people or anything harsher than perhaps yell at them or call them a few ‘choice’ names. Although… I do have zero tolerance for the radical Islamists, therefore; I really would like to see them all buried six feet under! As for the rest of the people who I don’t know; maybe we can put them all on a bus to let’s say… Camden New Jersey. Camden New Jersey is one of the most dangerous cities in the United States as far as crime goes but because I’m a Jersey girl, I really don’t think I’d want any of those extremists here either so… let’s say we just change the location of that imaginary bus and send them to Detroit instead. 

It’s very sad that Detroit has been ruined by liberal politicians, poor management, corrupt unions, high unemployment, drugs & gang violence. They’re a pretty tough lot up there and I doubt the locals would put up with any shenanigans from the non-desirables we’ll send up there! (Indeed, many may feel right at home.) And while we’re at it, let’s make sure that this imaginary bus only has one bathroom… and it’s unisex! Politicians seem to have a “one size fits all” mentality when it comes to the American people… so let them all share a bathroom on that bus! 

Come on folks, let’s have some fun here. This is a make-believe scenario to get rid of all the dead weight in this country and those causing a huge financial burden starting with the politicians! I mean after all, doesn’t all the monkey business in Washington cost you and your family time and money every single day? And because of all the political spending sprees, fraud, waste and pork barrel disbursements, you take home less money in your paycheck! That means that you have less money to spend on gas, groceries & bills… and your employer can’t pay what you’re actually worth, because he or she is in the same money crunch as you are… paying extremely high taxes and energy bills all the while allowing the DC elitist politicians to continue leading their cushy life-styles! Without consequence!

Okay, so let’s start with getting rid of most politicians in Washington and let’s put them on that make-believe bus to Detroit. And that consists of any politician including our narcissistic president who stands on his podium and says with a straight face to you & I, the taxpayers, that there’s no way to cut our country’s budget or deficit, all the while he’s raising taxes and spending money on lavish vacations, campaigning for his liberal followers & pissing our tax dollars away on advertisements for failed programs that he’s passed & foisted on hard-working Americans when he should be looking after the bottom line… the American People! Indeed, let’s load him up along with all those Democrats that voted for the Obamacare bill without even reading it and thus – causing all the current insurance turmoil in our country. Let’s get them on that bus too!!!

What about the entitlement freeloaders? Don’t you really wish you could make all those bottom feeders go away? I am not talking about hard-working folks who are just getting some temporary help from the government just to survive, or disabled veterans, fireman & policeman or the truly disabled in our country. I’m talking about the parasites in our society, the deadbeats, the ones that won’t work & think they are ‘entitled’ to live off the taxpayer’s dime.   If we shipped out the people causing this country to be in a downward tailspin… its declining instead of growing, you’d be making a better living, you would be prospering and wouldn’t need any government handouts. So let’s aggressively weed out those deadbeats & freeloaders who do nothing but work the system. I’m talking about the slackers in this country. They don’t work at anything except hustling the system all the while pretending to have an illness or injury so they can’t work or the pretend that they can’t find a job just they can go through life doing nothing but live on the backs of Americans who bust their butts every day working hard. And then on top of all that, they somehow believe they are entitled this free ride.  

But it’s not a free ride because we are all paying for it with taxes! Do you think the government is paying for it? This is all us! ALL us!!! And every one of us knows someone who is getting a free ride. These are the people who, when you’re checking out at the grocery store, are using food stamp credit cards to buy food that you cannot afford. And you know they could work or get a job, but what we hear from them is, “Oh, my back hurts”; “I feel depressed”; “I have six kids, each one from a different father”; and “I have no husband”.  

What we should say to these people is,  “Well maybe if you get off your lazy ass…  you lost a little weight… (who am I  my kidding)… you lose a lot of weight… you quit smoking cigarettes and you keep your damn legs crossed, maybe you could be a productive member of society instead of a friggin leech! The hard-working people of this country owe you squat! ”  No, I’m not sorry; let’s put them on that bus too and send them up to Detroit! 

And, while we’re on the subject, think about it. Honestly, do you know how much better our lives would be and our country would be; if we didn’t have people out there having more children just so they could get more money from the state and the federal government? Which means that you wouldn’t have to pay as much in taxes. This is one of the reasons our taxes are a size they are. I am 100% for giving a helping hand for a short minimal period of time to those in need, but none of us, except for those who are receiving our tax dollars, are in favor of creating baby factory mommies. And believe me that includes all races, all colors, all nationalities… legal ones and illegal ones. 

Heaven forbid you say anything against all the societal parasites and progressive liberals because you’ll be labeled a “racist”. Labeled by media pundits and liberal politicians as inciting hate speech! So let’s put all those politicians & pundits on the bus as well.  You know if we keep going like this, there’ll be no politicians left in this country. Wait for it… Do you feel like things are getting better already? There is, however; one particular a group of people who are so vile, so evil… that I could never send them on that bus.  We should put these sickening people on a boat with a hole in it with no water and no food and set it adrift at sea These are those perverted corporate leaders, those people who profit, lowlifes, child predators, perverted sex slave traffickers… and anyone else who makes a buck on the sexual corruption and molestation of our children. Round them up and put them on a boat with a hole in the bottom and send it out to sea! Let’s take a second and be honest. Can you feel America becoming a better place, now? 

Now, let’s deal with  all the guys who go around creating multiple fatherless children? I wouldn’t send them to Detroit, (many of them are there already) but there has to be some balance to make them take care of the children they created. Again, we are not talking about the “whoops” children, and the responsible couple that works together to make a great living life for a child or children together. Look, we all know that accidents happen. But the tragedy is when there’s no… NO responsibility taken for the creation of life by the man and the now pregnant woman accepts no responsibility for her actions either and so, guess what… they turn to you, the taxpayer, and say, “Pay for our bad choices.”

I don’t know what we should do with them, but I don’t think it should be the responsibility of the government to take money from us, the hard-working taxpayers, to pay for them. I think that should be done by the areas and towns in which they live because then it would be more motivational prodding from their own community and maybe those people would get a job and  actually work for a living  out of embarrassment and maybe behave more responsibly because of it… rather than the people in their community flipping the bill. We know in our hearts, that all these fatherless children and single parent households are only hurting us as a nation and it’s hurting our children and yet people condone this method of creating baby factory mommies. The parents of those taxpayer raised children are no better than those who exploit the innocence of our children because in both cases, you end up hurting and stealing from the children… the innocence of their childhood. 

Okay, where were we? Oh yeah, loading that bus to Detroit. So we pretty much agree that any government employee who believes that they have the right to dictate to us how we should be raising and teaching our children and at what age they must be exposed to different parts of life even if it’s against your strongly held religious beliefs and convictions, should also be placed on that bus. How about pompous extremist college professors? I like that one. You know, those college professors who are so overpaid that people have to mortgage their homes & retirement accounts and their child’s future just the send your child to the same college where they’re taught by these pompous overpaid extremist college professors, that conservatism and patriotism and love of country is foolishness and the people who have worked hard all their lives to make some extra money have somehow stolen from the poor. Yeah, they should be on that bus to Detroit as well! And their children too. You know… Not their actual children… just the 99% or so that they created in their classrooms & study halls. Yeah, that’s where they came from… our colleges. They were spawned by these pompous extremist professors! Load ’em up on the bus!!!

Let’s also put on the bus, every politician and every member of any organization who claims that it’s somehow racist and un-American to ask Americans to show proper identification when voting in this country considering you have to show proper identification to perform so many simple tasks already? Including, enrolling in Obamacare! Wouldn’t that be nice? To know that in your hearts one legal man or woman, one vote per legal American citizen because if you don’t think there’s voter fraud going on this country you’re very, very naïve!!!!!! 

And one other thing, if we could drill in this country we would pay less for gas… anywhere from a dollar to a dollar-fifty a gallon. If we cleaned up all this government waste and the stupid spending of our hard-earned tax dollars, you could live a better life. The government just spends and spends, it never stops. Indeed, the more they spend the more they take from you & me.  Just look around and think about it. We can keep going on like this and it will be just like the Internet bubble back in the 90s and the housing bubble back in the 2000’s. The tax system in America is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme. It can only work for so long before it just collapses and implodes upon itself. (Watch out for the Obamacare bubble to burst. It’s coming!) Of course, there will be politicians who will lie to you and say “Now it’s okay it’s all okay. Let’s just spend a little more money. That should fix the problem”. But, don’t you dare believe it! Put them on that bus and send them up to Detroit too! ~dfh

OBAMACARE & THE MEDIA

I used to enjoy the news but not so much anymore. After ignoring the story for months, if 20gce3onot years, the mainstream media is finally focused on the diabolic law that is Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act. However; now because of the multitude failures with the website and implementation problems with  Obamacare in general, the fallout from millions of policy cancellations, doubled and tripled costs of new insurance plans, rising co-pays and deductibles; some liberal pundits are calling anyone uses the name “Obamacare”, racists! Are they kidding? This seems to be the way of the liberal Democrats. When they don’t have a good answer for problems that they caused, they immediately use the race card. And why not? It’s worked before in their favor. That’s how Obama got elected… and reelected!

However; enough about Obamacare. I’m getting sick to death of it and it’s too bad because at the rate the insurance industry in this country is going, most of us might actually die from the lack of care from the Unaffordable Care Act! Regardless, I’m getting a little sick and tired of the media in general! Our U.S. Congress people, the drunken mayor in Canada, knocking the Tea Party, the media all but ignored honoring December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day while lauding the death of Nelson Mandela, the ex-communist who once happened to have done away with apartheid in South Africa. Who cares? The guy began as a communist with communist support & brought together a country worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize. It occurs to me that they don’t know squat about history and are too cowardly to tackle the real issues like the growing Muslim victories of indoctrination in our public schools, Common Core including fuzzy math without explanation, graphic sex education and Kindergarten children getting punished for pointing a finger at another kid. Watch out that finger might be loaded!

The media has also ignored, Obama’s firing of hundreds of military generals because they make sound suggestions or dare to question his exalted position as president! And what about the persecution of Christians in the military while the Muslims and Gays get their way on everything! Our military is currently being weakened and demoralized by this president and so-called commander-in-chief whose weakness and failure to lead properly has increased the chaos in the Middle East and allowed thousands of Christians to be tortured and murdered there.

His failure to uphold our own laws regarding our borders has led to even more murders from the illegals crossing our borders and Mexico into Texas New Mexico Arizona leading to the murders of farmers Americans and border agents. This president is a disgrace! And all the while he’s doing this they are systematically confiscating our guns and trampling on our Second Amendment rights!

When was the last time you heard a report on ABC CBS or NBC news regarding anything having to do with Benghazi and the four brave Americans (including our US Ambassador) that were murdered there while the Obama and Hillary Clinton pretended nothing was wrong (it was only a video) and did nothing for seven hours!  All the while our people were crying and begging for help that never came! Shameful!!! What about the other scandals that are NOT being reported? The IRS, NSA, and Fast and Furious scandals… what about that? Are we supposed to forget all the scandals; all these Obama scandals? Or is the media just hoping these things will go away on their own? Let me clue you in. Americans are not stupid! We will remember come Election Day!

Why it is now after 3 years, the media is so refocused on the failing Obamacare? Is it because they don’t want report on the real news happening here and abroad? Or is it because Obamacare is a good distraction from so many of the other important issues that are plaguing this nation presently? I don’t know what’s going on with the media but I do know that there ARE patriotic Americans in this country and they like me would fight to our last breath to protect & defend our God, Our Family, our US Constitution & our Republic.
