HOMELESS VETERANS ARE SNUBBED IN FAVOR OF ILLEGALS!

homeless-veteranHomeless American veterans shiver in the bitter cold while illegal immigrants receive subsidized four-year degrees. At midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold, Christ was born in a stable after his parents were turned away by every innkeeper. Joseph and Mary did not respond with entitlement: “If you don’t shelter us, then you’re racist.” Rather, they used their ingenuity to find an alternative birthplace for their son among friends—farm animals, shepherds, kings, and angels—beneath the light of an extraordinary star.

“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him up in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7

Earlier this month, I spoke at American Legion Post 3 in Lincoln, NE. I was impressed by how veterans—many of them disabled or elderly—are actively working to serve homeless veterans in their community. The post commander distributed a long list of items including bath towels, silverware and blankets that he wanted help gathering for local homeless vets. Post 3 American Legion Riders and the Legionnaires were also planning monthly pancake breakfasts where homeless veterans could receive warm meals served by friendly faces.

Veterans who are active within the American Legion are working very hard to help their brothers and sisters who have served their country—only to find themselves on the streets. However, it is troubling to see that our federal government seems to be prioritizing aid for illegal immigrants over care for our homeless veterans.

American Legion National Commander Michael D. Helm has taken a firm stand against the current administration’s recent executive order, which will essentially grant amnesty to as many as 5 million illegal immigrants. On November 20, Helm wrote: 

“The American Legion urges the President in the strongest possible terms to put our security, and our citizens’ interests and wishes, ahead of providing amnesty for millions of immigrants here illegally. …we have reached out to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to offer our help in bringing immigrants to full citizenship. Rewarding illegal immigration is a slap in the face to those who have obeyed the law and patiently went through the process.”

Indeed, legal experts such as American Center for Law and Justice Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow call the President’s executive order “an unconstitutional power grab of historic proportions.” ArthurSchwab, federal judge in United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, authored a 38-page ruling last week showing that the President’s order violates the Constitution’s “Take Care” clause, which states: [The President] shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed….”

Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution mandates that the President enforce the laws. Only Congress, per the Constitution, may make laws. Since the executive order changes U.S. immigration law by decree of the President rather than through an act of Congress, it is unconstitutional.

Amnesty proponents often cite the economic contributions of illegal immigrants. Certainly, many illegal immigrants do backbreaking work. They have also broken our laws. Veterans, in contrast, served while risking their lives to defend our laws. Until every homeless veteran is in permanent housing, we should not be granting work permits and college financial aid packages to illegal immigrants.

Plus, here’s the dirty little secret: the current executive order is not about helping destitute people achieve the American Dream. It’s about buying votes. A careful read of a Dec. 14 New York Times article reveals that organizations fronting as advocacy groups are brainwashing illegal immigrants to abhor Republicans so as to secure millions of future votes for Democrats.

Immigration is a non-partisan issue, and Latinos should not be used as pawns for lobby groups, non-profits and crony capitalists. The current administration has used young people (Millennials), gays, blacks and women to win votes while abandoning and betraying our veterans like Lt. Clint Lorance and Sgt. Rob Richards. Now, the administration is using Latinos for votes.

Here’s the real humanitarian crisis: our political leadership has no respect for veterans. Veterans were denied access to the WWII, Vietnam and Korean War memorials in Washington, D.C.—while amnesty advocates were allowed on the National Mall and the state of California confiscated millions of taxpayer dollars to bankroll the education of illegal immigrants.

50,000 veterans will cope with homelessness every night this winter—while the President promises protection from deportation and work permits for up to 5 million illegal immigrants.

Away on a bleacher, no cot for a bed, a veteran lay down his sweet head. The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay—in solidarity with the little Lord Jesus asleep in the hay.

In 2015, demand that your government make room for vets in America—“the inn” they fought so hard to defend.

Obama Administration Puts Public at Risk – Releases 36,000 Criminal Aliens

When you’re living outside of Washington, D.C., and the word “criminal” is put in front of the phrase “illegal alien,” you may find that a bit redundant. But, to political insiders, it is simply typical Washington double-speak. And that may help explain why last year the Obama administration released 36,000 convicted illegal aliens on an unknowing American public. Each had been convicted of violent and other serious crime. To be clear, I’m talking about crimes such as murder, sexual assault, kidnapping and aggravated assault.  And, if you aren’t upset enough already, the criminal aliens who are now in circulation throughout the country have almost 88,000 convictions.

That’s why on July 21, 2014, your Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to obtain vital information about a report from our friends at the Center for Immigration Studies that found Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released 36,007 criminal aliens who were the subjects of deportation hearings. We filed our FOIA lawsuit after the DHS, which includes ICE, ignored our May 15, 2014, FOIA request for the following basic information:

Any and all records of communications including, but not limited to, emails to or from personnel in the office of the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (including its component offices, such as the Office of Public Affairs), from May 1 to May 15, 2014, concerning, regarding, or related to the report published by the Center for Immigrations Studies concerning the release of 36,000 criminal aliens.

A simple request designed to get to the heart of the decision that put untold innocents at risk – completely ignored by the misnamed Department of Homeland Security.  What agency dedicated to providing Americans “security” would release criminal aliens who should have been deported who had, collectively:

  • 193 homicide convictions (including one willful killing of a public official with gun)
  • 426 sexual assault convictions
  • 303 kidnapping convictions
  • 1,075 aggravated assault convictions
  • 1,160 stolen vehicle convictions
  • 9,187 dangerous drug convictions
  • 16,070 drunk or drugged driving convictions
  • 303 flight escape convictions

Immediately following the release of the CIS report, former House Judiciary Committee chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) issued a statement terming the action, “the worst prison break in American history.” The representative laid the responsibility at the feet of President Obama, adding, “[I]t was sanctioned by the President and perpetrated by our own immigration officials … The Administration’s actions are outrageous. They willfully and knowingly put the interests of criminal immigrants before the safety and security of the American people.”

Obama administration officials, of course, took a far more casual attitude towards the “worst prison break in American history.” Three weeks after the release of the report, DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he was he was still trying to understand what happened, and declined to provide further details as to how the criminal aliens were freed or who was responsible. Johnson told the committee, “I am aware of the reports that in Fiscal Year 2013 thousands of individuals with criminal convictions who may be removable were released from custody. I have asked for a deeper understanding of this issue.”

By the way, do you know why the Secret Service, also “run” by Mr. Johnson, would leave the front door of the White House open and allow the president to be put in an elevator with “security contractor with a gun and three convictions for assault and battery“?

According to documents obtained by Judicial Watch in May 2013, this is not be the first time Obama immigration policies have resulted in lax treatment of dangerous or potentially dangerous illegal aliens. The documents, obtained in accordance with an October 2012 FOIA request, revealed that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) abandoned required background checks in 2012, adopting instead costly “lean and lite” procedures. The documents also revealed that, contrary to administration claims, that Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policies applied only to minors who came to this country illegally “through no fault of their own,” the directive actually created a new wave of chain migration, whereby immediate relatives of DACA requesters could be approved for amnesty. As a result, according to an agency memo from District 15 Director David Douglas, “some of the districts closer to the U.S./Mexico border have been inundated.”

The fact is, time and again, the Obama administration has rolled out the red carpet for illegal immigrants. And we now know that once they arrive, they are encouraged to stay, even if they have wreaked violent mayhem on the unsuspecting public. The American people deserve to have their own ‘deeper understanding’ of who authorized the release of these dangerous, convicted felons. And JW is going to court to find out.

In Washington, you get fired, and rightly so, for not doing your job and leaving the president unprotected.  But if you ignore the law and release criminals and guns onto the streets and get Americans killed, you get to be Attorney General, head of Homeland Security, and a seat behind the desk in the Oval Office.

Common Core or Obama Core?

54395606Common Core standards have been derided as a federal takeover of state education by some conservative critics. But a poll shows support for the reforms, even among GOP primary voters. Common Core is an educational curriculum being forced upon the states by the Obama administration, which was partially implemented in 2013. Thus far, 44 states are participating. Common Core eliminates local control over K-12 curriculum in math and English, instead imposing a one-size-fits-all, top-down curriculum that will also apply to private schools and homeschoolers.

Superficially, it sounds good. It creates universal standards that supposedly educate all children for college. But along with the universal standards come a myriad of problems, which the administrators of Common Core are disingenuously denying. The American Principles Project released an analysis last year of Common Core, exposing the duplicitous language. Common Core describes itself as “internationally benchmarked,” “robust,” “aligned with college and work expectations,” “rigorous,” and “evidence-based.”

Common Core proponents claim that it is not a federal mandate, instead using language like “state-led” and “voluntary.” The Common Core website asserts, “The federal government was NOT involved in the development of the standards.” It states that Common Core is not a national curriculum, but “a clear set of shared goals and expectations for what knowledge and skills will help our students succeed.”  Contrary to what Common Core supporters claim; that the states participated; the opposite is actually true. There was minimal public engagement in the development of the Common Core. Their creation was neither grassroots nor did it emanate from the states.  Instead, Common Core is being driven by policymakers in D.C.

Common Core shifts away from classic literature and allows for the reading of informational texts. Now, what are informational texts?   Those are handbooks from the EPA on how to make sure that your siding and your insulation is good in your house & Planned Parenthood about how birth control & abortion are good for you. Who in their right mind wants to read the government handbooks? Most kids don’t really like reading already so can you imagine how much they’ll hate it by the time they’re in high school; having spent most of their school years reading, “informational texts” instead of classics like, “Huckleberry Finn”, “The Great Gatsby” or “the Catcher in the Rye”? I would personally have missed out on a lot had I not read “Atlas Shrugged” while in High School.  Can you imagine writing a book report on recycling trash instead of a hero or heroine’s journey of adventure? By the time Obama’s Federally-run education system is finished, our children will have absolutely no imagination left. They will all grow up to be “Obamabots” and just like George Orwell’s book, “1984” (another great book I read in high school), there will be tight monitoring systems placed upon them starting with  “bio wristbands”!

Example; As soon as Hitler and his Nazi Party came to power in 1933, they began to mold the children of the German nation. No longer would school simply be about reading, writing, and arithmetic. Reading would be taught by telling the story of Hitler, Savior of Germany. A written essay might be about human genetics as it related to a racially pure Folk. And an arithmetic lesson might involve the number of miles one would have to travel to find Lebensraum (living room) for the exploding German population. Teachers were no longer able to use their own judgment and common sense. Their lesson plans were laid out for them by the state, and it was made clear that they had no choice but to teach Nazi propaganda.

Did you know that throughout the United States, Teacher’s Unions are filled with many members that are actually members of Communist & Socialist Political Parties and that they push their ideals on our younger teachers so that they bring it back and then pass them along to our children?

There is so much more that I can say here, but I don’t want to go on and rant any longer than I already have today. I’m already upset and it is not even 9:00 AM in the morning. So~ I leave it to the American People to decide. It is not too late for states to opt-out of Common Core. Write or call your state representatives and your Governor and voice your opinion. It is our right as Taxpaying American Citizens to do so. No defeatist attitudes here. WE are Americans & WE can do Anything we set our minds to! Our children need to grow up as free-thinking, imaginative individuals and NOT suffer through life as closed-minded, entitlement-grubbing slaves to our Federal Government & Obama’s Socialist Agenda. ~JGT

GOP CELEBRATES 160 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

An important milestone for one of the two major political parties in the United States. Exactly 160 years ago today (March 20, 1854) the Republican Party, commonly known as the GOP – an acronym for the Grand Old Party – was founded.

The party’s history began in a little schoolhouse in Ripon, Wisconsin, in 1854, where some 50 anti-slavery, abolitionists gathered to fight the expansion of slavery. The name “Republican” alludes to Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic-Republican Party and its commitment to the rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

The GOP’s unofficial symbol – the elephant – represents Republican strength.

This Jersey Girl finds it interesting that the current Republican establishment (politicians in Washington) find it easier to cave in to the liberal demands of Obama & his Democratic minions; thus enslaving Americans to the government by way of “entitlements”. This is in total opposition to the original purpose and mission of the original abolitionists who founded the party in 1854. ~dfh

In all, there have been 18 Republican Presidents. The first was Abraham Lincoln, who vigorously supported the 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery throughout the United States. The most recent Republican President was George W. Bush, serving between 2001 and 2009. The Republican party’s platform is generally based on American conservatism, in contrast to the Democratic Party, whose members endorse more liberal policies. The GOP currently holds a majority of seats in the US House of Representatives and a minority – in the US Senate.

The Republican Party’s core principles are as relevant today as they were back at the Party’s founding. We have one Party in this country that is Democrats who believe in the continued expansion of centralized government. They believe in expanding the size and the scope of the federal government and in increasing presence and the role of government in American’s daily lives, in their ability to conduct business and go about achieving whatever they deem happiness to be. The Republican Party is the Party of people as opposed to being a party of government. The GOP believes in freedom, self-determination and the ability of every individual to achieve success however they define success without government in their lives.

WHY IS BARACK OBAMA LIKE KING GEORGE III OF ENGLAND?

King George III was the King of Great Britain during the time of the American Revolutionary War.   The tyrannies that Kingobama-king-george-III George III perpetrated over the American colonies are what ultimately led to The Declaration of Independence, the American Revolutionary War, and the formation of The United States of America.  The Declaration of Independence lists the tyrannies exercised by King George III over the American colonies.  We are now faced with an administration whose actions are very similar to those tyrannies listed in the Declaration.

Here is a list of the similarities between the actions of the Obama Administration and the tyrannies listed in The Declaration of Independence (Each listed item starts with a quote from The Declaration of Independence followed by the similarities in the Obama Administration):

  • “The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States.”

lord-king-obama-croppedObama is similar to King George III in this regard because he has attempted on a number of occasions to implement social welfare programs for “the good of the people.” I know, I know, I must sound crazy. Why is it a bad thing that Obama is implementing welfare programs? Well, there are numerous reasons. First and foremost is that any social welfare program provided by the federal government comes at a cost to the people, and that cost is individual liberty. It is imperative that the people understand that when the government implements such programs we lose more money and more freedom. So, if you look at the bigger picture it is easy to see that Obama is not implementing these programs from the compassion of his bleeding liberal heart. He pushes these social welfare programs to keep the people dependent upon the government. His purpose in implementing such programs is to grow the power and influence of the government over the people.  Obama has also attempted to impose unwarranted regulations on the people, such as cap-and-trade, which would inevitably raise our taxes and subject us to more excessive government authority.

(Do you really need an explanation for this one? The man has over 50 “czars.” Most of these “czars” answer only to Obama!)

  • He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation

Obama has aligned himself with congressional democrats to subject us to unconstitutional legislation and regulation.  These unconstitutional acts run rampant through congress.  They buy votes, they propose bills that cannot be repealed, and they favor the interests of one state over another.  I might also add, that nowhere in the constitution does it give the federal government jurisdiction to extend its power to the suffering of individuals or the redistribution of one person’s property to another.  That being said, some might say that social welfare programs and even income taxes are unconstitutional.

The Obama administration has fiercely endeavored to force legislation upon the good people of this country that would inevitably raise taxes for all Americans. They have done this in spite of the fact that polls and other expressions of public opinion have shown that an overwhelming majority of individuals oppose such legislation.

Should aspiring tyrants be the leaders of the free world?  I don’t think so.

OBAMA AUTHORIZED PEACETIME MARTIAL LAW, MILITARY DRAFT & PROCUREMENT OF PRIVATE PROPERTY

Did you know that President Obama signed anunprecedented Executive Order (EO) in March 2012 authorizing a Military Draft? It exceeds the recent admission from Defense Secretary Leon Panetta dismissing the role of Congress in military actions. It exceeds the revelation in the National Defense Authorization Act which declares the U.S. homeland as part of the battlefield allowing American citizens to be indefinitely detained absent any charges being filed.  Why is this EO so heinous? Read it here for yourself.

It doesn’t even require the declaration of an emergency. It’s based upon national defense readiness, both in peacetime and during an emergency. It extends the powers of martial law at anytime the President sees fit. Martial law normally requires a breakdown of law and order. This President has determined he has the authority right now, today, to implement any measures he deems necessary to prepare the troops.

Sec. 102.  Policy.  The United States must have an industrial and technological base capable of meeting national defense requirements and capable of contributing to the technological superiority of its national defense equipment in peacetime and in times of national emergency.  The domestic industrial and technological base is the foundation for national defense preparedness.  The authorities provided in the Act shall be used to strengthen this base and to ensure it is capable of responding to the national defense needs of the United States.

He goes on further to declare that his Agency Heads have the authority to guarantee loans by private institutions (Sec. 301), and even to make the terms of the contracts (Sec. 301(b)). If that’s not enough, he has given the Agency Heads the authority to issue loans (Sec. 302). They are also authorized to stockpile materials in excess of requirements (Sec. 303(b)) and to issue subsidy payments for high cost items (Sec. 304). Section 308 is outrageous.

Sec. 308.  Government-Owned Equipment.  The head of each agency engaged in procurement for the national defense is delegated the authority of the President under section 303(e) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2093(e), to: (a)  procure and install additional equipment, facilities, processes, or improvements to plants, factories, and other industrial facilities owned by the Federal Government and to procure and install Government owned equipment in plants, factories, or other industrial facilities owned by private persons; (b)  provide for the modification or expansion of privately owned facilities, including the modification or improvement of production processes, when taking actions under sections 301, 302, or 303 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2091, 2092, 2093; and (c)  sell or otherwise transfer equipment owned by the Federal Government and installed under section 303(e) of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2093(e), to the owners of such plants, factories, or other industrial facilities.

The Federal Government has the authority to procure, install or modify private property. In peacetime. Who needs Martial Law? Obama is also creating advisory boards such as the Defense Production Act Committee (DPAC) and the National Defense Executive Reserve (NDER). Not exciting enough for you yet? How about Section 601.

Sec. 601.  Secretary of Labor.  (a)  The Secretary of Labor, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of other agencies, as deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, shall: (1)  collect and maintain data necessary to make a continuing appraisal of the Nation’s workforce needs for purposes of national defense; (2)  upon request by the Director of Selective Service, and in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, assist the Director of Selective Service in development of policies regulating the induction and deferment of persons for duty in the armed services; (3)  upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this order, consult with that agency with respect to:  (i) the effect of contemplated actions on labor demand and utilization; (ii) the relation of labor demand to materials and facilities requirements; and (iii) such other matters as will assist in making the exercise of priority and allocations functions consistent with effective utilization and distribution of labor; (4)  upon request from the head of an agency with authority under this order:  (i) formulate plans, programs, and policies for meeting the labor requirements of actions to be taken for national defense purposes; and (ii) estimate training needs to help address national defense requirements and promote necessary and appropriate training programs; and (5)  develop and implement an effective labor management relations policy to support the activities and programs under this order, with the cooperation of other agencies as deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Labor, including the National Labor Relations Board, the Federal Labor Relations Authority, the National Mediation Board, and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service shouldn’t be concerned it even exists.

But… upward mobility has stalled.” This has been refuted most recently by Harvard Economics Professor Raj Chetty who recently released a paper showing that upward mobility in America hasn’t changed since the 1970’s.  This means that in the past 40+ years the chances of moving out of poverty in America have remained unchanged.

The President continued beating his ‘war on women’ drum last night, using his often cited statistic about women making only $.77 for every dollar a man makes in America.  The problem is this statistic is completely bogus.  It isn’t just conservatives who are saying this, even the staunch liberals at Slate say the President’s figures simply don’t add up.  After all, it’s just arithmetic.

3. While the President made a big show out of the minimum wage he failed to tell the American people, that the minimum wage actually only affects less than 1% of the work force.  That’s right, less than 1% of the American workforce earns the federal minimum wage, the rest work at a level above the minimum.  While Obama might want to force this issue for political gain, he is lying when he says that this is a huge problem for the American public.

4. Obama claimed “more than 9 million Americans have signed up” for coverage under ObamaCare during his speech last night, a number that has been widely challenged in the aftermath of the speech. Observers have pointed out that almost 5 million Americans have lost coverage because of the mandates in ObamaCare. Others have questioned the number of Medicaid beneficiaries who are newly eligible due to the program’s expansion under the law. Obama’s 9 million figure includes a claim that 3.9 million learned they are eligible for Medicaid, but he admits some of those counted are actually renewals.

5. President Obama claimed to have added 8 million jobs to the U.S. economy last night to loud applause.  The problem is, that claim only rings true if you ignore all of the jobs the economy has lost under Obama’s watch.  The true number is well less than half of his claim.  The President will continue to ignore this truth, however, because it goes to show that the economic recovery under his tenure has been the slowest since World War II.

6. While Obama took credit for the rising domestic energy production he is lying by omission when he fails to tell the American people this energy boom has occurred in spite of his policies, not because of them.  Much of the increase in domestic energy production has happened on private land, and despite the growing number of regulations that the Obama administration has heaped on the industry.

7.  The Affordable Care Act, ObamaCare to most, is on its face a lie.  While the President painted a rosy picture of his namesake last night, he glossed over the fact that it is not affordable after all.  While monthly bills for health insurance have gone down for some (and risen for others), that is only one side of the equation.  What Obama isn’t telling the public is that deductibles are going up under ObamaCare, sometimes doubling or even tripling.

8. While carbon emissions are not at the top of For America’s policy priorities, holding President Obama accountable for his claims is what we are all about. Last night, the President claimed the U.S. “reduced our total carbon pollution more than any other nation on Earth.” The facts show many nations reduced their emissions by a greater percentage than the U.S. has in recent years.

 9. On Iran, President Obama told the American people a flat-out lie last night.  The President said that Iran is now eliminating its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.  While evidence exists that the Iranians, under the recent international agreement, have begun oxidizing their highly enriched uranium, a process that makes the uranium unusable. Obama failed to say this process is completely reversible, and thus, Iran has not eliminated their stockpiles at all.

My Father and Father in Law served their country and watched as their friends & fellow soldiers died in WW II and Korea. I watched as my friends & neighbors died in Vietnam and my husband & I served our country through campaigns in Panama, Granada, Desert Storm and Desert Shield. None of them died for the Mexican Flag. EVERYONE  died for the U.S. Flag.

In Texas, a student raised a Mexican flag on a school flag pole; another student took it down.  Guess who was expelled? The kid who took it down!  Kids in high school in California were sent home last year on Cinco de Mayo because they wore T-shirts with the American Flag printed on them. Disgusting! Enough is enough!!!

We’ve bent over to appease the America-haters long enough and I’m I’m taking a stand. I’m standing up because the hundreds of thousands who died fighting in wars for this country, and for the U.S. Flag can’t stand up. And shame on anyone who tries to make this a racist message. Let me make this perfectly clear!
